We have a blog!

Hello, fellow book-clubbers!

The idea was brought up at book club last night to create a blog as an additional forum to present ideas, post information and note the delicious reads we have had over the past two years and the ones we will have in the future. In the first official post, I thought it'd be fun to archive our accomplishments to date .

To encourage lots of activity from the onset, feel free to comment on the following:

  1. What was your favorite?
  2. How many have you actually read?
  3. Which was the biggest surprise (and if you feel like it, why)?

  • September 2009: "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" - Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

  1. 1. Either "Time Traveler's Wife" or "Water for Elephants"
    2. 20! And that's not counting the part of "The Nine" that I did actually make it through. The only one I've 100% missed is "History of the World." And of course, I read all 4 Twilights.
    3. "Twilight" - did not see that addiction/possession/destruction-of-important-things-in-my-life coming. Vampires - who knew they could be so ridiculously sexy?

  2. Well Done Miss Kelsey :) I'm amazed at how quickly you made it happen! (And I kind of wonder if you've secretly had it created all along just waiting for someone else to suggest us creating a blog!)

    1. Ditto on your favorites as mine! I've read "The Time Traveler's Wife" three times and love how each time I question if I could live Claire's life. I also love the intrigue of "Water for Elephants" (Never saw the twist coming!)
    2. I've read 20 books too! "The Nine" and "Franny & Zoey" were my struggles. Hope to try "The Nine" again some day...
    3. I was actually surprised at how dark and twisted "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was & I cannot wait to read the sequel! I'm ONLY 172 on the library waitiing list ;)

  3. 1. I can't choose just one favorite. I would have to say it's a multiple-book tie among all of the historical fiction books...Other Boleyn Girl, Vanishing Point, and Guernsey are probably my top three. Historical fiction has become my favorite genre.

    2. I also read 20 books. :) I barely cracked "The Nine."

    3. The biggest surprise for me was at the end of "Water for Elephants." I did not see that coming even though it was there from the beginning. What a crafty author...

    4. I love our book club. Happy almost 2 year anniversary!
